Buenos Aires, Jan 4 (NA) – The former president of Rosario Central, Horacio Usandizaga, died this Sunday at the age of 85, after suffering several strokes in recent time that had forced him to retire from public life. According to the Argentine News Agency, the former president of 'The Canalla' between 2007 and 2010 will be waked in a hearse located at Córdoba 2936, in an intimate ceremony for family, friends, and close associates. The Rosario club was the one who informed the leader's death on social networks: 'At 85 years of age, Horacio Usandizaga, former president of Rosario Central, who held the position between 2007 and 2010, has passed away. Our condolences and respect to the family and friends'. Usandizaga assumed the presidency of Rosario Central in 2007, in the midst of an institutional crisis that the auriazul club was going through, which in 2010 was relegated to the National B First Division. This loss of category caused the leader to present his resignation. Prior to his involvement in the political life of 'The Canalla', the lawyer was a reference of the Radical Civic Union, being the first intendant of Rosario after the recovery of democracy in 1983, being re-elected in 1987 and ending his term in 1989. After this intendancy, Usandizaga was a provincial deputy between 1993 and 1995 and later a national senator for Santa Fe, from 1995 to 2001. After his presidency at Rosario Central, the leader suffered three strokes that distanced him from public and political life until his death this Sunday.
